One of the hardest things about the holidays is buying a gift for a man. I think the reason that it is hard to buy a gift for a man is because men have a very laidback, nonchalant attitude in regards to materialistic things. Furthermore, the vast overwhelming number of things in department stores are focused on women and women’s wants and needs. I guess it isn’t that much of a surprise since women tend to do most of the shopping, while men go to work and then come home to watch eat, watch TV, and play video games. But men deserve to be pampered too, so here is a list of 5 gift ideas for the man who has everything.

5 Best Gift Ideas for the Man Who Has Everything

  • Electric Shaver
  • Xbox One S Console
  • Virtual Reality Headset
  • Book
  • Customized Cup

Electric Shaver

After lockdown happened, many women and men emerged with longer hair opting for DIY haircuts instead. So what better gift as the coronavirus continues to sweep the world than a gift that allows men in particular to shave and trim their hair from the comfort and safety of their home? Also, an electric shaver is a must-have item for any man. Even if they already have one, they could probably use another one.

Xbox One S Console

It is common knowledge that a man loves two things: food and games. Men love to have the latest electronics and that includes the new Xbox One S, which was released in September 2020. Give this gift to your man so that he can keep himself away from the kitchen while you cook holiday meals.

Virtual Reality Headset

It’s VR — who doesn’t want VR? Young, old, middle-aged, women, men, children — everyone likes VR.

Book

A book is a great gift for anyone! I recommend getting a book that is amusing and funny, but also didactic and educational. Consider getting What If? which answers some of the most absurdist questions in the most scientific way. If your man likes to question everything, then that is the perfect gift for him.

Customized Cup

Whether your man prefers to drink out a cup, shot glass, wine glass, Tervis tumblr, or mug, choose one and then get it customized. Any man will feel special (and lucky) to drink out of a cup with his name on it.

Conclusion

I tried selecting gifts that were a mix of the whimsical and practical. Men like functional gifts, but it’s fun to add a little bit of absurdity to make them laugh. After all, the holidays is a time of laughter and joy and it doesn’t hurt to throw in a little bit of fun into them.

What is on your wish list for the man in your life this holiday season?

  1. Hmm, just like a woman; shopping only at malls, which as you note are almost totally oriented for women shoppers. But, my dear friend, have you NOT heard about Menard’s, Lowe’s, or Home Depot!?? πŸ™‚ GREAT places to shop for the man in a woman’s life.
And for that matter, since money may be tight after this year’s lockdowns, LOTs of us guys (think, me! πŸ˜‰ ) would love a coupon for a sexy massage from our life’s love; or a coupon for lots of things to do… a promise to act interested in a football game and actually ask questions about why that guy in the striped shirt threw that cloth into the air; go to a favorite activity even though it’s not hers; watch a sci-fi movie that he loves even though it has huge plot-holes; make a special at-home date with his favorite smelly oysters or sardines. :-D))) And did I mention a massage??
We love our wives, but we try to remember, “Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus.” πŸ™‚

  2. Awesome ideas! I don’t know what to get my boyfriend and I’m on a budget, so I’m considering making those cheesy coupons.

  3. It’s funny how men are either team Playstation or team X Box. If I bought my husband an X box he might call for a divorce! Lol Im joking, but you’re right about gamers. You can’t go wrong with a console, but I would say pick the right one πŸ˜‰

  4. Aha, a book is actually a good pick. It is a gift that keeps giving. Thank you for sharing your ideas. They were lovely. Markus actually asked his family for a new razor for Christmas, so spot on.

      1. I’m sure he will; get spoiled again by me … can never pull the ‘socks present’ πŸ™ˆ but at least its funny to joke about it πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

  5. I am lucky that my husband is easy to buy for! I can always find a funny gift for him. If there’s something specific he REALLY wants he’s not afraid to tell me. Makes gift giving easy and fun for him!

    1. Oh that’s perfect! I love it when people can just tell you what they want instead of beating around the bush or having you surprise them lol

  6. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Safari. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Kudos
