This year, the easiest family member that I can shop for is my baby boy. He is currently ten months old and he loves toys that are fun, interactive, and noisy. I am compiling a list of awesome Christmas gifts for the 6 month to 18 month old baby. I have chosen baby toys that can be used for at least several months or years, incorporating various stages of development, and thus giving you the most bang for your buck.

5 Best Christmas Gift Ideas For Baby
Baby Einstein Discovering Music Activity Table
Between the months of six and eighteen months, there is so much development happening for your baby. They will start to sit up, crawl, stand up, cruise, and eventually, walk. That’s why a learning table such as this one is absolutely essential for babies. It keeps them entertained, while also helping to develop the necessary arm and leg strength to eventually be able to walk. I love that this table is perfectly suitable for the pre-crawler as a floor toy (just pop the legs right off). I also love how it comes in four different languages (English, French, Spanish and music for that crucial early but necessary exposure. I love the various instruments that your baby can play, as well as the emphasis on the number and color skills.
Still not convinced? Check out my toy review of this table that I wrote two month ago.
VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker
As I mentioned, between the ages of six and eighteen months, there are so many changes. Once your baby is about to start walking, it’s important to get them something to give the a little help. I love this VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker. Like the table above, the front piece comes off and can easily be converted to a floor toy for the pre-crawler. And then, when your baby starts pulling himself up and eventually walking, then your baby can use it to practice standing up and walking assisted. I’ve actually had this for both of my children, and they both loved it so much.
VTech Turn and Learn Driver
Babies and toddlers love toys that are not just noisy but ones that imitate real life. They love to just copy everything that mom and dad does. That’s why the VTech Turn and Learn Driver is so important to give your little one the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat. They can turn the wheel, push the buttons and squeal with delight at the lights and colors, shift gears, and even glance in the rear view mirror to check for what’s coming. It just has all the features that any car has and is perfect for any budding driver.
Little Tykes Tap-A-Tune
One of my favorite toys as a little girl was a toy xylophone. I wasn’t very good, but I do remember how much I loved to just sit for hours and make “music” with it. That’s why, I knew I wanted to get my oldest a xylophone of her own to give her that same joy. Four years in and she still loves to play with it. Her musical skills have gotten considerably better month after month, year after year, from infant to pre-schooler. It is definitely a great investment for any budding musician.
Pearhead Ceramic Piggy Bank
This last one isn’t so much a toy, but more a present for the future. There’s no better time to start saving than now. There will be so many expenses for your child as he grows up, so why not start saving a dollar or two a day? Every little bit adds up. Once you reach a certain threshold, then you can open up a savings or investment account for your little one’s future. But this is a start.
These are top five toys that you can get for your baby this Christmas. These toys aren’t a substitute babysitter, but rather as a means to entertain for short bursts of time. Never underestimate the importance of sitting down on the floor and playing with baby. Also, be sure to keep the box because you will find that to be the best toy.
