Julie Andrews from The Sound of Music once sang “These are a few of my favorite things” citing raindrops and apple strudels among other things. While I’ve never tried apple strudels before, I’ve always loved this song. This song expresses so much love and positivity. It suggests that no matter what is going on, there is always a silver lining. There is good that can be found. We just have to stop and think about what we like. Easier said than done, right?
Today, I’m going to list some of my favorite things in alphabetical order.
A – Avocados

Number one on the list is my favorite food. I just love avocados. I love the green color. I love how easy it is to eat. I love how you can just eat it with a spoon, scooping out the insides, being careful not to spill the savory goodness. Or you can eat it on some toast or in some tacos.
B – Bananas

I also love bananas. I used to love watching one of those home videos of me eating a banana as a baby. I remember that it was on VCR so the quality wasn’t that great and it took such a long time to rewind. But it was such a sweet moment. So, yes, I love bananas because of the nostalgic factor.
C – Caterpillars

No, not for eating.
I remember when I was in elementary school, my friends and I would play with the caterpillars that we would find on the playground. We would let the caterpillars crawl (and even pee!) all over our hands. . To this day, when I think of caterpillars, I think of the fun we had on the playground during recess at school.
D – Dogs

What I love most about dogs is that they love you unconditionally. People should be more like dogs.
E – Earthenware Pot

I love myself a good earthenware pot for cooking soups and stews. I love its ability to keep food warm for a long time even after its finished cooking. I remember my mom and grandmother cooking the traditional kimchi jigae in one of these pots. Just the thought of these pots feels like home to me.
F – Free Standing Tub

I don’t have a free standing tub, but I’ve always wanted one. They are just perfect for a good, long soak in the bathtub. I can just see myself filling it to the brim with warm water. I can see myself taking a bath while reading a good book until the water gets too cold and my fingers too wrinkly.
G – Grass

Most women love flowers. I really don’t. I prefer the grass. I love the smell of a freshly mown grass. I love how it feels to sit on a fresh green pad of grass on a lovely summer day. But I don’t like walking on grass barefoot. It hurts.
H – Hot Chocolate

One of my favorite things to do in the winter is to drink a hot mug of hot chocolate. I love the feel of chocolate sliding down my throat. I mean, chocolate is pretty amazing. But chocolate in liquid form is simply divine.
I – Ice Cream

This is something that I love regardless of what season it is, though it is to cold to eat ice cream in the dead of winter. I love the very act of eating ice cream. I like to trace little valleys in the ice cream with my tongue. I like to just lick the ice cream so that I can savor every last taste.
J – Jewels

You wouldn’t catch one wearing one, but I like to just stare and be amazed at the beauty of those things.
K – Kittens

I’m not a huge fan of cats, but I do like kittens. They are just a bundle of innocence and perfection.
L – Leaves

I just love the fall. What I love most about the fall is the changing of the leaves. I also love to jump in a huge pile of leaves, letting the beautiful colors cascade over me.
M – Moon

I love it when I randomly look up and see the moon in the sky. It makes my heart happy to see it there, so bright and sure and beautiful.
O – Ocean

I just love the sounds of the ocean. I love to wade knee deep, smelling the salt water in the air.
N – Noodle

I love eating anything with noodles.
P – Penny

Don’t you love that feeling when you suddenly look down and you see a penny on the ground? I can’t help it — my heart leaps even more if it’s head.
Q – Quail Eggs

I just love braised quail eggs. The eggs marinated in a brown sugar and soy sauce mixture tastes like heaven on Earth.
R – Rain

I’m not sure if I love the sound of the rain beating on the windows outside, or the smell of the air after it rains.
S – Seashells

Seashells are like a message from the Earth that everything is going just fine.
T – Tiger

This is my favorite animal.
U – Underwater World

I just love to swim and see the world “down under.” Maybe one day, I’ll have the courage to swim underwater in the ocean and see the sea animals.
V – Vest

I feel like this particular article of clothing is underrated. It’s a great accessory to wear with a dress or a shirt, but people just don’t wear it enough. Who thinks that we should bring vests back?
W – Watermelon

This is probably the best treat to eat in the summer.
X – Xylophone

I can play a toy xylophone. Does that count?
Y – Yarn

I love taking a bundle of yarn and making something pretty with it.
Z – Zebra stripes

Aren’t zebra stripes so beautiful?
Whew! That was harder that I expected.
To help spread love and positivity, I’m going to nominate five bloggers who I think should do this fun challenge. Of course, if you aren’t nominated, then feel free to still do this challenge and link back to me.
