I was nominated for the Liebster Award today. Thank you Nianni! Please go check out her WordPress blog by clicking here.

Rules

Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog. Answer the eleven questions given to you. Nominate 11 other bloggers. Ask your nominees 11 questions.

Questions

1–Your favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite thing about blogging is the community. I love reading other blogs and interacting with the bloggers in the comments. Whenever I scroll down the list of my followers’ most recent posts on “My Reader,” I learn something new. Most recently, I learned how to overcome travel anxiety, some facts about dogs, and how to make some delicious cupcakes.

I also love interacting with people on my own blog posts and hearing whether people agree or disagree with me. I love hearing their opinions. So, please, all comments are welcome on my blog.

2–One thing lock down has taught you?

We were under mandatory lock down starting in mid-March. As the mandates are gradually lifted but with restrictions of mask wearing and social distancing, I have become increasingly aware that fear is the one thing that can control people. When people are scared, then they find themselves doing things that they never thought they were capable of. I mean, a year ago, if you were to tell me that I would be going to a store with a mask on, I would have laughed in your face. And yet, here we are.

3–Your biggest life achievement?

My biggest life achievement is earning my bachelor of arts degree in Communications from Southern New Hampshire University. It was all the more rewarding since it took longer than I expected.

4–What do you like about blogging?

Eh, I think I already answered that above.

5–What do you dislike about blogging?

Honestly, I dislike how there is so much work to blogging. It would be really nice if my blog can just take a magic pill and suddenly get thousands — millions — of followers. But at the same time, I’m glad that there is a lot of work involved. Because the more you work hard at something, the more rewarding it is in the end.

6–Your blogging goals and your plans to achieve them?

My biggest goal in blogging is to improve my writing. That is the main reason why I decided to start blogging again during the summer of Covid-19. I wasn’t writing as much as I used to — and I missed it. Now, I’ve been writing a new blog post everyday and I kind of love it. I love the feeling as I sit at my desk. I’ve been questioning things more, asking why, and then deciding to transform that thought into a blog post.

I’ve only been blogging for a few months. I’m not sure if my writing has improved, it’s stayed the same, or if it’s gotten worse. I hope it has improved. Nevertheless, will keep plugging away to keep refueling my creative brain by writing!

7–Your favorite memory in the history of blogging?

I was twelve or thirteen years old. I was sitting at home, in front of the computer, bored. I headed to AOL and after watching it connect after a very, very, very, long time, and then hearing that familiar “You’ve got mail,” I saw a notification pop up. It invited me to join AOL RED blogs. I clicked on it, read through it, and decided to make a blog. That was my very first blog.

I loved that blog. I had it for two or three years. I blogged about my life, my family, and my thoughts. But what I loved the most was interacting with other kids my age, but most specifically, other writers my age.

8–Describe your blog in three words.

Informative, entertaining, opinionated

9–Describe yourself in three words.

Kind, smart, detail-oriented

10–Have you ever thought about quitting blogging?

Many times. I’ve thought about it. I’ve also taken long breaks from blogging. Sometimes blogging can be stressful and exhausting. It can be a great outlet for creativity and freedom from the “real” world, but it can be mentally exhausting. It is even more stressful now than it was in the early 2000s when blogging was just picking up.

11–What does blogging do to you?

Blogging makes me happy. These last few months, it’s given me a purpose and an outlet to channel my creativity. I have big plans for this blog. I have big plans for where I want to go.

  1. Congratulations and thank you so much for the nomination! I thought that you answered the questions really well and found your answers to be very relatable. I love blogging too, it’s my creative outlet and a way to improve my English whilst communicating my thoughts. But it’s very time-consuming and I struggle to juggle it around a full-time job. Taking breaks from typing and computer screens is a must! Btw, you write really well 😊✨

      1. You’re most welcome, blogging is wonderful 😊 Thank you, I live in London, so English is my first language. I can also speak Gujarati and learned bits of German at school. And yourself?

      2. Oh awesome! It’s so interesting so different things are in different languages and how some languages are very similar. So if you know enough French and Spanish, then learning Italian is easy 😊
